My Stay at The Lodge at Blue Sky in Utah

I already was a big fan of Utah and especially Park City (it’s my favorite destination in the United States) so when the newest Auberge Resorts property opened just 25 minutes outside of Park City I had to go check it out and stay the night. As you drive up to the lodge you get an immediate feeling of the Wild West as you pass cows, horses and wild life. The day I arrived it was snowing which gave the property a cozy, mountain chic feel.  It’s the perfect resort for nature adventure lovers and also those that want a quiet escape. The focus is on year-round outdoor activities with a minimalist approach.

Overview:

This contemporary resort is set on a 3500-acre ranch. It is beautifully designed with warm earth tones and natural elements of wood, glass, leather & stone which a majority of it is naturally sourced. You will notice beautiful artwork with horses and nature inspired design.

You can visit the resort year round but in my opinion summer would be the best time to enjoy the resort with it’s laundry list of activities some include horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking and clay shooting. In the winter months you can ski at Park City Mountain and have access to the exclusive lounge, cross country ski miles of groomed trails, cat skiing and even heli-skiing.

Rooms:

It’s a boutique property which allows every guest to be looked after with special attention and the staff can really get to know you. They have 46 rooms and 3 types of accommodations called The Sky House, Earth House and Creek house. The earth and creek houses have private entrances and feel as if you are in your own little escape. I loved the Creekside houses the best for their ultimate privacy and nature feel experience. The meditation sounds of the creek are perfect to calm the body and mind.

I stayed in The Sky house located in the main lodge which feels more like a hotel and gives you easy access to the gym, restaurant and lobby.

All of the rooms are thoughtfully designed with floor to ceiling windows giving lots of natural light and views. They thought of everything with attention to detail including lights under the bed that light when you step your foot down, reading books in the room, snacks that are included in your stay and are local, binoculars, extra blankets to get cozy on the patio and also a back pack and refillable water bottle to use during your stay with a walking stick.

Spa:

The Edge Spa has five treatment rooms and is attached to a relaxation room where you will just want to look out into nature and relax. Right off the spa and overlooking Alexander Creek is a relaxation pool that you see the steam coming off of in the winter! I loved the sanctuary like design and how they have mountain inspired treatments.

Dining:

The restaurant Yuta is inspired by the ingredients found in the mountain landscape and locally sourced. Dishes are seasonal and all well thought through along with everything else this property does.  I experienced dinner and breakfast during my stay and both were fabulous. I also loved the dish sets and even the cute little ceramic creamer holder for your coffee.

Best for:

Couples who want an escape but still be active, and those who love nature and beautiful scenery.
