A Glimpse into the Best of the Maldives
The moment I departed The Maldives after my first trip 5 years ago, I started itching to go back and see if it was as incredible as I remember in my (day)dreams. Believe me when I tell you, as soon as I touched down, I was instantly reminded why it remains my favorite place on earth!
Despite the full-day journey from Park City, the warm Maldivian Hospitality that greeted me upon arrival swept away any trace of travel fatigue. I realized that the Maldives is more than a destination; it's a wonder of luxury within nature. A masterpiece of powdery sands and turquoise waters that instantly make you feel at home in paradise.
The Maldives may seem intimidating, but I’m here to tell you IT’S NOT!! There are about 160 resorts scattered throughout the Maldives, each with their own distinct theme, style and flair, but the consistent through-line is the high level of service and attention to your personal preferences.
Are you gluten-free? They’ll make you custom pastries each day.
Bringing the kiddos? The Kids’ Clubs are their personal summer camps. They might never want to leave.
Feeling Lazy? Your personal butler will assist you with anything you need.
Rainy day during your trip? The spa has you covered.
Adventurous eater? Each resort offers cuisine from around the globe to keep your palate happy. From India, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Japan and The Maldives, you can change it up every day.
Water-Sports junkie? Choose from snorkeling, scuba, jetskis, parasailing, kite-surfing, waterskiing, sailing, and submarine tours, or just take a swim from your back patio.
Eco-Tourist? The Maldives prides itself on sustainability and many properties will give you tours of their coral reef restorations, sustainability operations, recycling centers and animal sanctuaries.
To make the resorts easily digestible, I spent time there curating my "Best of the Maldives" list. As you peruse the list below, just imagine waking up to the best breakfast at Ritz-Carlton, or indulging in a tailored wellness journey at JOALI Being. Whether you're drawn to the opulence of Cheval Blanc's rooms or the vibrant entertainment at Patina, each entry promises a unique and unforgettable experience. From the "barefoot luxury" of Soneva Jani to the unmatched service of JOALI Maldives and the all-inclusive indulgences at Kudadoo, this list is your go-to guide for an unforgettable Maldivian adventure. Get ready to explore the epitome of tropical paradise!
