I personally stayed in the 6 bedroom residence and let me just tell you… it was out of this world amazing! All residences come with your very own private butler and if you have kids, a nanny.

Overall, this Fiji vacation location on a private island can accommodate up to 115-125 guests, but you’ll still feel like the only ones on the island. Also, fun fact: there are approximately 220 staff members who truly are the heart and soul of this dream island getaway. Every person on staff is amazing and I was blown away by the gracious hearts of everyone that I interacted with. They truly are some of the most generous and caring people you will ever meet. You’ll notice this from the moment you arrive to the special departure you’ll experience. If you’re anything like me, tears will be flowing as you depart.

Foodie Life: Island Style

Experiencing Fijan cuisine is truly an experience of it’s own. The majority of the food is island grown and locally sourced. Order beachfront, poolside, in-villa or dine in one of the restaurants for flavorsome meals. Walker D’Plank was my personal favorite location to dine and I found myself here for dinner and lunch during my stay. You’ll love the “Tap Out” method of dining… a no menu concept. They simply keep bringing you food until you can’t eat any more! Everyday is different and based on how Chef Caroline Oakley is in the mood for and what’s “hot” for the day.

I know for a fact that you won’t get bored of the food choices here. With their dock-to-dish and farm-to-table approach, Fiji Kokomo Private Island is setting a new standard in Fijan cuisine by working with local growers, fisherman and Kokomo’s own farmer to harvest and produce island grown seasonal culinary delights.

Activities + Things to Do

Guests will have direct access to the Great Astrolabe Reef, which is the fourth largest reef. As the only luxury resort in the region of Kadavu, Kokomo, it offers exclusive access to dive sites that are not frequented by other resorts.

You can snorkel directly off the beach in their house reef or obtain your open water dive certification through their 5-star PADI dive center. Other activities include fishing, boating, kayaking, surfing, or take a boat off island for a stunning and unforgettable waterfall hike.

If you’re more into relaxing, get a treatment at the spa, sip a cocktail on the beach or private pool. They offer meditation and yoga classes during sunrise or sunset!

How to get to Fiji from the States:

Kokomo Private Island is located just 45 minutes from Nadi International Airport, and accessible via private helicopter and seaplane transfer. Experience panoramic views of the Fijian Islands as you transfer to Fiji's most exclusive private island. This is what we call arriving in style!

Kokomo Private Island operates shared or private Domestic Air Transfers from either Nadi International Airport or Nasouri (Suva) International Airport. The journey is approximately 45 - 60 minutes via Kokomo’s owned and operated Twin Otter dual command Seaplane or Bell 407 Helicopter. It is up to the discretion of the resort as to which aircraft is allocated. Specific aircraft requests cannot be guaranteed.

If you’re traveling from the States, the easiest way is a direct flight from LAX on Fiji Airways.The flight departs around 10pm and arriving in Nadi around 6am giving you the opportunity to sleep over night and wake up ready for a full day! The flight is 10 hours. Time difference from LA is 20 hours ahead.

The airline is pretty new and the business class option is lay down flight and a great option if you want to relax and sleep in comfort.

The departure out of Fiji is around 10:30pm and has you landing at LAX around 11am giving you the same opportunity to sleep and not be jetlagged.

To ensure the transfer to the island is on the same day as arrival, please ensure your arrival flight is scheduled to land prior to 3:00pm and departing flights are scheduled to leave after 10:00am from Nadi or Nausori Airport.

Best time to go: The climate is great all year making it a year round vacation destination. Our summer is their winter making the temps the best! Warmest time will be our winter between December- March

Length of time: The average length of time is 4-7 days depending if you are combining with another location or if this is your full vacation.

Other locations to combine with : Just 4 hours away from Australia and 3 hours away from New Zealand by flight, making it the easiest to combine with. Also it’s a 5 hour flight from Hawaii so if you want 2 tropical trips…that’s a pretty perfect combo! You will see some people combine with Seoul, Hong Kong or Singapore but it’s a good 10hour flight.
