Desert Relaxation at Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage Palm Desert

Sometimes I think I should be a professional relaxer and just test out Spa’s all over the world.. it might be a really hard job but I think I know what it takes! Once I decided this job was for me.. I booked a trip to Ritz Carlton Palm Desert Rancho Mirage and knew the perfect person to take was professional Spa goer herself Lisa Michaelis, CEO of Live Love Spa to see if this spa getaway would make the list.

The final score was an A + for relaxation!

Palm Desert is approximately 2 hours from Orange County, San Diego and LA making it a great and easy weekend trip to escape and just relax! It’s located high up in the valley giving you the best views of the desert and sits on perfectly landscaped gardens and grounds.

I love the rooms with the cozy fire pits but if your preference is the fantastic views, we can accommodate you in these rooms instead. They have 2 pools available for guests- a family pool and an adults-only pool, providing you with a kid free super relaxing vibe if that’s what you’re looking for.

The Spa is truly amazing with 15 treatment rooms, full steam, sauna and cold showers with an outdoor whirlpool and also a co-ed area that has a waterfall coming out of  the rocks. Even the showers are scented with lavender, mango, and Jasmine.

They have crystals throughout the space which keep you grounded and make it aesthetically beautiful.

I loved getting ready in the lounge since they had everything you needed. After your treatment concludes they present you with champagne and we got an extra special treat of chocolates ☺

Besides the spa, what we think made the trip was the Club lounge.. maybe that’s because we are foodies as well. If you have stayed at other Ritz properties you are probably familiar with their lounges. This one is seasonally and happened to open the day we arrived (normally it’s opened September – May). The staff is incredible attentive to all your needs. We were in and out constantly. The dishes were amazing! Let me tell you.. it’s well worth the extra cost. Below is what it includes.

  • A dedicated Concierge tends to your individual needs

  • Five culinary offerings presented throughout the day

  • Breakfast, lunch, snacks, hors d'oeuvres, desserts, cordials and selected beverages

  • A relaxed environment with separate sitting areas

I definitely recommend for a relaxing desert oasis book your next trip at Ritz Rancho. Relax poolside, enjoy the spa, play some corn hole, read the newspaper in the morning over looking the desert and roast smores by the fire pit in the evening. Don’t forget to star gaze in the evening (I got to see Saturn!) and end the night enjoying a glass of wine in the lounge while enjoying some decadent desserts in the desert.
