Maldives Resorts: Hurawalhi

What you need to know:

Vibe: Plan to have your shoes off the whole stay. It has picture perfect beaches an overwater spa, modern and everything still feels new with a real focus on nature. The food was the healthiest of all the resorts visited with beautiful menu options.

Getting there: Takes 45 minutes on a seaplane from Male and a 10 minutes boat ride to the resort.

How long has it been open: 2 years

What type of resort is it? Adults only, All inclusive and B&B options

Number of Rooms: 90 Villas all come with breathtaking ocean or beach views

How I feel about the Rooms: You can select from over-water villas or beach villas, both equally amazing! I also know the best room number here so I’ll be able to book you in the best room in the resort- but of course I’m keeping this a secret for my clients ☺ All rooms have pools with a large walk in/out shower and views of the ocean from bed.

Highlights

- The Chef Warren does an outstanding job with all food outlets. Breakfast was incredible with so many healthy options including a smoothie bar with apothecary supplements as well as a fresh juice station (ginger, cucumber, apple, lemon, beets, ect) , tons of juice shot options such as tumeric shots.. I was blown away with all the healthy options for the buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner.

- They have the largest all-glass undersea Restaurant called “5.8”, which is 5.8 meters under the sea. This was a definite highlight of the trip and although the Maldives doesn’t participate in the Michelin star program, I could see this restaurant being listed as Michelin star if they did. The presentation and food with the atmosphere of being 5.8 meters underwater was incredible. Non-resorts guest can take a boat in to experience this. Open for lunch and dinner.

-At the end of the villas boardwalk, you will find a champagne pavilion-the perfect location to watch the sunset.

- They have a private island, shared with Kudadoo where they can do weddings, private dinners and a 2 hour romantic experience where they drop you off and you have the island to yourself.
